We’ve always played with texture, and this SS19 season is no exception. A crafty theme has swept through once again with applique embroidery and clever stitching taking centre stage. There’s nothing homespun about this trend, though: artisanal handiwork has gone high-end to bring super luxe pieces guaranteed to turn up the volume this summer.
TWO: GET INTO PRINT
Fashion’s preoccupation with wild prints is inexhaustible but for SS19 it’s nearing saturation point: prints should be worn all-over, clashed merrily and madly with little concern for what goes with what. Wall flowers need not apply.
THREE: BLEACH TREATMENT
The Eighties just won’t go away, as we’ve seen, with acid wash fabrics still going strong and popping up in all the cool places. Get in to it and be one of the cool kids.
FOUR: FRUITY COLOURING
The easiest way to energise your wardrobe? Take your garments in joyful tutti frutti shades this summer. Enjoy tees in saturated shades of apple green, blueberry and plum with accents of citrus.
FIVE: HEADS UP
You’re not fully dressed without a hat, especially not in summer – but which will take your fancy? A street style cap or the more practical bucket hat. You decide.
