Why We Use Cotton

At Band of Boys + The Girl Club, we’re committed to slow fashion, choosing materials that align with our values of quality, sustainability, and longevity. That’s why cotton is our go-to fibre. As one of the world’s most sustainable fibres, cotton can be recycled and biodegrades naturally, making it a responsible choice for our kids' wear brands. Its comfort, durability, and versatility ensure that our garments are not just loved by your Minis, but they’re made to last. As an industry, cotton supports the livelihoods of millions of people – both directly and indirectly – around the world.  It really is the perfect fabric for use.

Cotton has been cultivated for over 7,000 years, making it one of the world’s oldest and most trusted fibres. Today, it remains the most widely used natural fibre, with growing demand. We love working with cotton because it’s not only beautiful but also supports millions of people globally—both directly and indirectly. It really is the “fabric of our lives.”

As part of our slow fashion approach, we believe in extending the life of our garments. Cotton, being a natural fibre, will fade over time, and its fluffy texture can cause shrinkage when washed in hot water or tumble dried. To help your BOB+TGC pieces last, we recommend washing in cold water and drying in the shade whenever possible.
