Giving Back 2023: Our Social Responsibility

At Band of Boys + The Girl Club, our commitment goes beyond fashion; it extends to promoting kindness, self-expression, and confidence, with a dedicated focus on making a positive impact on the lives of others. We firmly believe that every child deserves more than just access to new and seasonal clothing, garments that empower and boost their self-esteem.

This year, we take pride in highlighting our efforts in supporting incredible charities, with a special emphasis on assisting families in need through organisations such as Kids in Need and Kindness Collective. We've also actively participated in fundraisers for various organisations and schools. Through both the donation of garments and monetary contributions, we've collaborated with charities that share our vision for a better and more inclusive world.

These collaborations represent not just a charitable act but a shared commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. As we reflect on this year's contributions, we're reminded that fashion can be a force for good, and together, with our community of supporters, we're creating positive change—one garment at a time.

In addition to our broader initiatives, we've recently made meaningful contributions to specific educational institutions. This includes providing hundreds of dollars in vouchers to local school fundraisers.

Furthermore, we've extended our support by donating outfits to Thames Coast Community Kindergarten and Te Puru School for the Pohutukawa Ball school fundraiser. Additionally, our contributions to The Breast Cancer Foundation and The Prostate Cancer Foundation through other local fundraisers, as well as supporting Waitakere Kindergarten, reflect our commitment to various causes close to our hearts.

This year alone, we’re thrilled to share that we’ve donated more than 100 garments and offered community contributions, with a combined value of over $13,000. These numbers are not just statistics; they represent the tangible impact we've collectively made in the lives of those we've reached.

We know it has been a tough year for many, but if you are in the position to support any charity or organisation, please do.

We look forward to sharing more stories and initiatives that have shaped our journey of social responsibility in 2024.
